⏱️ Time Management Strategy
The Golden Rule: 1.8 Minutes Per Question
With 120 minutes and 65 questions, you have approximately 1 minute and 50 seconds per question. Here's how to use that time wisely:
🔢 Calculator Section Tips
On-Screen Calculator
The numeracy test includes an on-screen calculator for calculator-available items. Practise entering calculations accurately, and check the current ACER candidate information and screen orientation for the available functions.
- Fraction buttons
- the test-screen layout and controls
- accurate entry of decimals and brackets where required
- estimating first, then checking that the result is sensible
Keep fraction, decimal and percentage conversions fluent. A calculator checks arithmetic; it does not replace choosing the correct method.
📖 Literacy Test Strategy
Reading Comprehension Approach
About two-thirds of the literacy test is reading comprehension. The most effective strategy:
- Skim the questions first — know what you're looking for before reading
- Read the passage — with the questions in mind
- Eliminate wrong answers — narrow down to 2 options
- Find evidence in the text — the correct answer is always supported by the passage
📚 Reputable LANTITE Practice Materials
